With half of the world’s population using social networks, these tools have become an indispensable ally for entrepreneurship. Among the most important ones is Instagram, a network that although it was born for individual users as its principal target. Since Facebook purchased it, it has evolved to be a business social media as well. Today we present you the step by step guide to get the most out of Instagram for your business.
Create a great username and a helpful bio!
The first step is to think about how to make sure that when a potential client is looking for something related to your business, they can find you without any problem, and that you are one of the first options they see.
Keywords are filters that help speed up your search. These words must be located in the username and the biography.

- Username: should be short, easy to remember, and easy to pronounce. Preferably it is the name of your business. However, we recommend adding the section in which it belongs, for example, @socialpiper_library
- Biography: it is the first section of your profile that the user sees. This is why it is crucial here to specify what your business is about and place the words that are of interest to your target.

Produce content of interest to your audience
While Instagram is all about aesthetics and a visually appealing feed, it is also important that the published content contains the message you want to convey. Remember that this platform in its entirety is visual. Unlike Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin which can be pure text (although this last point is not recommended).
The posts must contain what your target wants to consume and of course, what you want them to empathize with. Likewise, you should always communicate your business values so that the aforementioned is received by your potential client successfully.
Use the correct hashtags
Hashtags are one of the most popular tools on Instagram. These serve to facilitate the search and filter the content of all the publications within the platform. It is advisable to always put at least two in the body of the post.
It is important not to use hashtags that have a lot of use flow (more than a million users). Also, try to put more specific ones that may have more reach within your target. Therefore, when the user is looking for something related to your business, they can see the content without being lost inside the thousands and thousands of posts published by different accounts similar to yours.
Seek real and organic followers
Followers are the customers who create your business. The interactions they make with your content help the Instagram algorithm to reach many more people. This is why it is of great importance that the main aim is always to reach real people who are active in their social media accounts.
Interact with your followers
Instagram stories are very useful to interact with your followers more directly. Try to show a behind scene of your business, a sneak peek always works to provoke intrigue and that your followers are aware of your posts.
Within the stories, several instruments are of great help. You can create surveys, place the location of your business (or another place you’d like), mention your collaborations, or any account you want, among other things.
Always try to be active in your instastories and answer direct messages as soon as possible so that the client feels the confidence that is crucial for them to remain an active user of your networks.
